#DIYMusicChat

Hosted by @debonairetoast, we cover topics suggested by audience participation, and the conversations are driven by community engagement. As the host, I'm here to facilitate and learn along with others. I'm a self-taught experimental musician with a degree in music technology. The DIYMusicChat on "The Other Place" helped me find support and information — so I'm paying that forward on Mastodon through Musicians.Today.

Chats are held weekly, open to flexible schedules depending on the topic and who we're talking to that day (yay, international timezones!).

All skill levels, all genres, all approaches to music are welcome. We'll always need experts interested in sharing their knowledge, and we'll always need novices eager to solve problems and anyone in between looking to meet creative or personal development goals.

We've covered technical and more abstract topics, the concept is.. we're doin' it ourselves, but we don't have to do it alone! Join the conversation!

Custom emojis

custom-emojis

Mastodon allows the creation of custom emojis. For us, this means lots and lots of instruments!

It's encouraged to append the emoji for your main instrument to your name. You can do this by typing it like this:

John Doe :drumkit:

If you are missing your instrument, let me know about it!

#MastoMusicCollab
